What are the best practices for safeguarding my acrylic paintings from potential damage?

“When storing your acrylic artwork, always be sure to use non-acidic tissue paper or glycine paper on the surface of the painting. Lay the paper on the surface and then wrap the art in bubble wrap to protect it, especially if you move it.

Do not store your paintings in damp or warm areas; always try to lay them flat to avoid warping the frame. If you are hanging the artwork, be sure to help protect it by putting it in an area with low to medium natural light.

Avoid hanging any artwork in bright sunlight as it can degrade the paint and pigments and fade the painting.

Always use strong nails, hooks, and hanging hardware to ensure the artwork doesn’t fall and cause potential damage to the art and the frame. It’s best to know the weight of the artwork and then purchase hanging materials that can support that weight properly.”
